Synopsis
People with conflict analysis skills are in high demand on the labor market, because untreated conflicts in organizations can result in high conflict costs. From the perspective of university didactics, it is therefore worthwhile to keep balance between professional, methodological and social competences when teaching content. According to Bloom's taxonomy levels, teaching should not only impart knowledge and understanding, but also encourage students to apply and analyze the content in order to gain the abilities to synthesize knowledge and evaluate information independently. Accordingly, the goal of the Erasmus+ project "DISCOM" is to support application-oriented teaching of interdisciplinary and social competences by developing teaching and learning materials – for example on the topic of conflict diagnosis and management. Together with five other universities, experts from the Institute of the Foundations of Law and the Center for Social Competence at the University of Graz have created teaching videos, teaching materials, self-study materials and a mobile phone app.
