Synopsis
The article describes the media image conveyed in television shows and movies about robots and artificial intelligences in libraries. Fictitious scenarios can influence personal attitudes or even contribute to the development of new communication technologies. The results of producers and television makers’ examination of a possible future will be presented on the basis of a few broadcast examples. What tasks are assigned to robots and artificial intelligence in libraries? Do they replace librarians or libraries or do they remain auxiliary tools with mediocre intelligence? And what ethical questions should we ask ourselves?
