Synopsis
The Education and Research Library of Pilsen Region and the Regional State Library of Regensburg are breaking new ground as they are implementing a three-year cooperation project in the historically linked border region between Bavaria and Bohemia. The main objective is the coordinated networking between both libraries in order to strengthen the cross-border research and improve their services. It is planned to connect both library catalogues technically with the aim of simplifying the cross-border literature search. In addition, a systematic exploiting and digitization of library contents with regional focus takes place. The network will be expanded to further regional institutions. The ETC financed project is pursuing an innovative approach and encourages further cooperation.
