Synopsis
Inspired by a UX (user experience) workshop held by Andy Priestner at the Cologne city library in April 2018, a team of WU University Library staff members from several different units decided to carry out a planned project for refurnishing the chill-out area on level 4 of WU’s Central Library based on a user-driven process. By using UX methods, it is possible to survey the opinions of the users of a facility or service directly on site, in spontaneous, informal settings that provide first-hand user responses. In the following, we will first present some of these useful UX methods and then outline our project and its successful results.
