Synopsis
This study introduces a novel concept: battery-powered regional trains as mobile energy carriers. Charged via renewable energy at depots, these trains transport passengers while delivering clean energy to off-grid or low-access areas, supporting microgrids, station operations, and vehicle recharging. This approach leverages regional rail networks, particularly in topographically diverse or partially electrified corridors, to enhance sustainable energy distribution and clean transportation.
