Synopsis
The Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education, developed by the Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL), provides a framework for teaching information literacy in higher education. It contains core ideas that represent insights into the creation, distribution and the use of knowledge in a scientific context and are important for understanding science and its working methods. It also describes knowledge practices and dispositions associated with internalizing these insights. This article focuses on the "epistemic core" of the concept and shows possible applications in training and teaching practice.
