Synopsis
The text explores the historical and cultural relationship between humans and forests, from the Neolithic era to today. It discusses sustainability, such as Hans Carl von Carlowitz’s ideas, and artistic engagement with nature, like Joseph Beuys’ “7000 Oaks.” Michelangelo Pistoletto merges art and sustainability in his “Third Paradise” project, also realized in Graz. The forest emerges as a symbol of societal transformation and creative visions for the future.
