Synopsis
This paper proposes a structured yet streamlined method to integrate environmental performance into the MEAT evaluation of metro rolling stock tenders, focusing on greenhouse gas emissions across the vehicle lifecycle. A simplified LCA framework is operationalised, balancing ISO 14040 rigor and Product Category Rules (PCR) feasibility with real-world constraints like limited data at lower TRL. The methodology assesses CO₂ footprint and key environmental indicators early in product development, covering upstream, core, downstream, and end-of-life phases.
