The EU-funded Horizon 2020 project “MEAsureD” focuses on improving the performance and sustainability of high-temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cells (HT PEMFC) for heavy-duty vehicles. By combining experimental research with advanced modeling, the project evaluates the environmental impact of current fuel cell technologies and explores cleaner alternatives. A meta-study synthesizes life cycle assessment (LCA) data, establishing benchmarks for key indicators like global warming potential (GWP). MEAsureD aims to reduce platinum use, increase power density, and deliver a high-performance HT PEMFC system, advancing sustainable mobility and clean energy solutions.
