Synopsis
In the former Dominican monastery Münzbach in Upper Austria there is a room which used to be interpreted as a Hostienküche (bakery for altar bread). This paper argues that this room can and should be interpreted as an alchemical laboratory. It includes a description of the room and the building as well as the historical context which makes this interpretation likely. The question whether it really was an alchemical laboratory or not will ultimately remain unanswered.
