In addition to the conventional challenges of university libraries when it comes to information literacy, a music library has to deal with additional complexity regarding research as well as a very heterogeneous body of users. In the particular case of the Mozarteum University Library, the additional challenge of the organisation as a closed stack library is included, which places more emphasis on detailed and exact online research. With these challenges in mind, the Mozarteum Library is working on conceptualising and implementing courses on catalogue research and working with the library’s inventory which will be continuously reevaluated and adapted to meet the needs of the users.
