The issue of sustainability has long since reached libraries. In addition to general sustainability strategies created by libraries, statements and assessments on sustainability are also necessary in individual areas and processes, which can be incorporated into the overall strategy. This also applies to retrodigitization, which continues to play a major role in academic libraries. To date, there have been hardly any comprehensive publications or handouts available on this subject, so the Saxon State Library – Dresden State and University Library has intensively dealt with the topic and continues to do so. A first draft of a checklist for sustainability aspects in retrodigitization was developed, which is intended to be used in practice.
