Since its foundation in 1778, the Faculty of Law in Graz can look back on a remarkable success story, written by numerous renowned academics who have had a decisive influence not only on the Faculty but also on law as a whole. In the spring of 2020, the faculty organized an art competition to present "Fifty" academics in the form of portraits as representatives of the many outstanding personalities. Veronika Sengstbratl, Nina Kern and Ophelia Reuter, students at the University of Art and Design in Linz, won the competition.
The winning project, entitled "The Fifty", will be realized by the fall of 2020 and supplemented by a further personality from the field of law in 2021. The artistic portraits - accompanied by short biographies - will be placed at the center of faculty life with this publication. The portraits are a reminder of the important tradition of the Faculty and serve as a model and an incentive for teachers, students and researchers to continue to make a decisive contribution to the development of law in the future.
