Synopsis

Wolfgang Hamedinger outlines the history of VÖB’s honors system. From the Dr. Josef Bick Medal to today’s support awards, many individuals have been recognized for their contributions. Following historical review, the system was reformed in 2009. Honors serve as appreciation and motivation. Nominations are reviewed by an honorary commission using objective criteria. Awards are presented publicly at the Austrian Library Conference.
