Synopsis

The position of women within the Association of Austrian Librarians reflects the development for women in society and libraries in Austria. In the early years of the association, there were only a few outstanding women on the board. A change began to take place in gender politics during the 1970s and 1980s. Today the proportion between women and men and the weighting of votes seems balanced.
