Synopsis
Since its founding 75 years ago, various publications have been among the most important means of communication of the Association of Austrian Librarians, both internally and externally. The article examines the development and interplay of the journals and book series in which the VÖB has played a leading role, in particular the Mitteilungen der VÖB and its development from a mere information organ to a platform for thematic exchange and professional networking that extends beyond the VÖB. It addresses changes in institutional framework conditions, media and publication cultures and, last but not least, the self-image and cooperation of the people and institutions involved.
