This publication examines the profound changes brought about by the current media revolution, triggered by 'intelligent' algorithms and advancing digitalisation. It concludes that there is a significant social need to critically examine AI-supported processes. To meet this need, AI education must be as inclusive as possible, promoting ethical, legal and democratic skills within the framework of critical media and AI literacy, as well as technical knowledge. Developed as part of the Future Fund Styria, the serious game Journalism_AI addresses the challenge of providing participants with an experimental, collaborative learning space. Here, they can adopt different perspectives, each with its own specific logic, and conduct independent research to enable them to make informed decisions about the regulation of AI systems in journalism.
