Mission Statement
Graz University Library Publishing
The publishing service of Graz University Library enables members of the university to publish their research results as monographs or edited volumes in open access and, if required, to provide the research data on which they are based. Our team is experienced in all stages of book production. Our services include: personal on-site support, detailed instructions and templates for preparing publications for publishing, and the Open Monograph Press publishing program, which guides you through the publishing process from submitting your proposal to managing the peer review and editorial processes (cf. Workflow). These comprehensive services enable you to publish your work in a professional and timely manner.
Our publishing service is compliant with the Diamond Open Access standards, i. e. the services we offer are free of charge. This is in line with the University’s Open Access policy. In order to increase the visibility of our publications they are provided with an ISBN and a DOI. In addition to being published on our homepage they are also available on international platforms such as buchhandel.de.
In terms of content, we publish studies that are carried out in the university’s various research areas on socio-politically important and topical issues. Both science-to-science and science-to-public topics are included.
Quality assurance
On the basis of a submitted proposal, the Scientific Board decides on inclusion in the publication programme. In assessing proposals, the Scientific Board follows the Editorial Policy. All publications must undergo a full-text review process before publication in order to ensure scientific quality. The organisation and handling of this process is in the responsibility of the authors/publishers.

Open-Access-Policy and Licenses
All publications from Graz University Library Publishing are freely available on our website, enabling open access to research and the global exchange of knowledge. All publications can be used and downloaded free of charge. This is in line with the requirements of the BMBWF for higher education governance.
Publications of Graz University Library Publishing are subject to the Creative Commons Licence “Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)”.
